Coulbourn Instruments

Coulbourn Instruments has been in operation in the Lehigh Valley for more than 35 years. The company is an acknowledged leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of laboratory instrumentation for the life sciences. Its equipment is in use in the pharmaceutical industry, in university research laboratories and in independent laboratories worldwide. Flexibility, durability and ease of use are hallmark features of Coulbourn apparatus.

The Habitest system of modular arenas which may be equipped with response sensors, auditory and visual stimulus delivery modules as well as a variety of liquid and dry feeders is widely recognized as the best in class. Paired with Graphic State Notation software for process control and data acquisition, the available turnkey systems have greatly streamlined the process of creating a functional laboratory.

For those applications involving physiological data acquisition and associated stimulus presentation and experiment control, Coulbourn offers the LabLinc V modular instrument series. These modules comprise the industry's finest signal acquisition and signal conditioning designs. Interface modules are available for Dataq and National Instruments BioBench and other third-party Labview-based software. Coulbourn also offers turnkey systems for both human and animal research for the LabLinc V hardware.

In August of 2010, Coulbourn Instruments joined the Harvard Apparatus family of companies. The addition of Coulbourn to Harvard Apparatus' extensive base of research products and capabilities, including our Panlab behavioral research business, permits our group to provide our customers with the most current technology, as well as the highest levels of quality and customer support in the industry. This acquisition marks an important milestone in our goal to provide the best solutions for your research needs.

Coulbourn remains committed to providing the high quality of product and exceptional level of service to which our customers have been accustomed.

Privacy and Customer Security Statement

Coulbourn Instruments is committed to your privacy and have detailed our practices below:

Coulbourn Instruments will not release personally identifiable information about you without your permission except as needed to provide to you the services you have expressly requested, as explained in greater detail in the section on "third party relationships" below. We will provide the means for you to manage and control the information that you have voluntarily provided to us. We will provide mechanisms for you to communicate your privacy questions and concerns to us and that we will respond to them thoroughly and thoughtfully. An eMail to sales@coulbourn.com or written letter to our main office expressing your desire to have all said information removed from our database and files will result in all pertinent information deleted from digital format. If you wish to have a copy of any information we have on file, eMail sales@coulbourn.com and request a copy. A photocopy of your file will be sent to you by U.S. Postal Service.

Your personal privacy is our most important concern. At
Coulbourn Instruments, we recognize that whether you are considering a business relationship with us, or are an existing customer, you have an interest in how we collect, retain, and use information about you and your business relationship with us.

Coulbourn Instruments does not sell customer information to outside parties.

You should also be aware that there may be situations where we are legally required to disclose information about you, such as in response to a subpoena, to prevent fraud, or to comply with a legally permitted inquiry by a governmental agency or federal regulator.

Customer Privacy
At
Coulbourn Instruments, employee access to customer information is authorized for business purposes only and is based on the sensitivity of the information and our employees' or agents' need to know. We remind employees regularly of their obligations under Contract, which states our requirements for using customer information. Disregard of these requirements will result in disciplinary action, including termination in appropriate cases.

While we use 128-bit SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, (access to any of the
Coulbourn Instruments' Gateways is through https:// security) we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to your information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment, behind a locked door.

We have established and continually maintain security standards and procedures to help us protect you from unauthorized access to confidential information about you, including through the Internet.

Information Security
Coulbourn Instruments employs an additional protection mechanism known as a firewall to protect our computer systems and your information from external intrusion. Firewalls can be thought of as selective barriers that only let authorized traffic (i.e., us, our customers) through to Coulbourn Instruments' systems.
