Contact our Behavioral Research Specialists for more information

This Passive Avoidance Testing cage (14"Wx7"Dx12"H) is the built from the standard shuttle cage but also includes one side permanently darkened at the factory, a guillotine door, bright overhead stimulus light, and a set of wall filler panels that would normally need to be added with the purchase of the standard shuttle cage. Patterned after the modular test cage, this cage comes with full 3-bay modular walls on each end to accept the stimulus-response modules available for all other cages and hubs. Side detection photo cell sensors, shock floor, and one drop pan also included.
SHUTTLE CAGE - MOUSE

This Shuttle Cage (14"Wx7"Dx12"H: appropriately sized for mice) is the raw partitioned cage best suited for Active Avoidance but easily converted for Passive Avoidnace or Learned Helplessness paradigms.  The included open barrier can be easily removed for cleaning, or to allow for one very large cage area. This cage comes with a pair of photocell sensor bars for side detection, a shock floor and a removable drop pan. The most often used accessories are black-out film, a guillotine door, bright overhead stimulus light, and a set of wall filler panels. Patterned after the modular test cage, this cage comes with full 3-bay modular walls on each end to accept the stimulus-response modules available for all other cages and hubs.
TEST CAGE - MOUSE - INCLUDES INFUSION AND STIMULATION LID, REQUIRES FLOOR PURCHASED SEPARATELY

The Mouse Test Cage (7"Wx7"Dx12"H)  is designed for use in the most complex and demanding research applications. There are three bays on each side of the cage to accept a wide variety of stimulus and response modules.  Although originally designed for operant conditioning, these cages can also be used for feeding and drinking, lick suppression (Vogel Procedure), general activity monitoring, conditioned suppression (Fear conditioning and Freezing) and many other standard procedures. The Mouse Cage is designed to hold all ceiling-mounted devices, including counter balance arms, for stimulation, recording and infusion applications.

The Mouse Test Cage may also be connected to hubs, running wheels, or other cages using runways and other couplers.  Runways may also be used to place reinforcement devices away from the rest of the S-R modules.  The Mouse Test Cage may be fitted with an optional non-shock, expanded metal floor or a grid shock floor.

For convenience in cleaning, the cage floor and drop pan are easily removed. They simply snap off and slide out. A single connector disconnects the shock cable from the shockable floors so that the floor may be removed and replaced in seconds.  Stimulus and response modules slide into the bay tracks so cages are configured to your specific requirements.

Because of its modularity, this cage does not include wall panels or a floor. Those items are sold seperately.
REPLACEMENT DROP PAN FOR MOUSE TEST CAGE

These are extra drop pans for standard mouse or rat operant cages. Like floors, its best to have extras to swap out between subjects.
NON-SHOCK FLOOR FOR MOUSE TEST CAGE

A wire mesh Non-Shock floor for the Mouse Test Cage (P/N H10-11M-TC).   Can be  used when protocols do not require  grid floor shock and for contextual changes in the environment.  A floor is not included with the Mouse Test Cage.
SHOCK FLOOR FOR MOUSE TEST CAGE

Grid shock floor for the Mouse Test Cage (P/N H10-11M-TC).  The shock floor is wired for eight unique shock outputs.  The additional grids are reflexed to the first eight grids.  Required for protocols involving grid floor shock.  A floor is not included with the Mouse Test Cage.

GUILLOTINE DOOR FOR MOUSE SHUTTLE AND PASSIVE AVOIDANCE CAGES
Contact our Behavioral Research Specialists for more information

The optional guillotine doors replace the open door barrier (supplied with the cage) separating the two compartments. The can be installed in seconds with four screws.

A 28 VDC signal opens the door and holds it open for the duration of the signal. For safety, when the signal is removed allowing the door to close, the operating mechanism de-energizes, leaving the door free to fall. Only the weight of the thin sheet metal door rests on an animal that may not have cleared the door.
