Product Number: HCAS-100
The Home Cage Activity System employs infrared sensors mounted on the fronts of the home cages to monitor subjects’ movements. As the animal moves about in the cage, the infrared signature produced by body heat is altered, and these changes are detected by the sensors. The software separates movements into two categories based upon their durations; the criterion durations for large and small movements are user-specified. The system can accommodate up to 64 cages in groups of 16. Data are logged to disk at 30-second intervals. Security measures include password access for several authorization levels as well as audit trails for all data files.
