V75-02 BioAmplifier without Filters

V75-05 Isolated BioAmplfier without Filters

|
Product Numbers: V75-02 & V75-05
The V75-02 and V75-05 are designed for a wide range of applications and are used when filtered signals in bands not available on the V75-01 and V75-04 are to be studied or when sharper filtering than the 12 dB per octave cutoffs included in the V75-01 and V75-04 filters is desired. A 60 (or 50) Hz notch filter is built in and can be bypassed These BioAmplfiers can be used with the V75-50 EEG Band Separation Filter, the V75-48 High Performance Bandpass or in virtual applications when filtering is being done through digital signal processing. Like the V75-01 and V75-04, these BioAmplifiers have high gain and low noise making it useful for all physiological signals. The V75-05 is used when isolation is required to prevent interference when multiple signals are being recorded from one subject. V75-03 Direct Coupled BioAmplifier

V75-06 Isolated Direct Coupled BioAmplifier

|
Product Numbers: V75-03 & V75-06
The V75-03 and V75-06 are directly coupled to the input signal without a preamplifier-coupling filter. These are used for very low frequency signals. A 60 (or 50) Hz notch filter is built in and can be bypassed. Biopotentials from electrodes may be of very large potential with only a small variation "riding on top" of the overall signal. AC coupled amplifiers like the V75-01, V75-02, V75-04, and V75-05 BioAmplifiers de-couple any overall, large DC potential and pass only the variation (above the frequency selected on the preamplifier coupling control). These BioAmplifiers are used when the entire signal (absolute level) or very slow variations are of interest for signals like ENG and EOG. The V75-06 is used when isolation is required to prevent interference when multiple signals are being recorded from one subject. Isolation from earth ground for safety may also be required in situations where other sources of voltage with respect to earth ground are present in the environment and represent a hazard to the subject. |

Couplers
V72-25B Strain Gage Bridge Transducer Coupler

|
Product Number: V72-25B
The Strain Gage Bridge Transducer Coupler is used for recording responses from strain gage transducers such as force and displacement transducers, blood pressure transducers, aneroid pressure transducers, accelerometers, etc. This coupler will accept almost any four element resistive bridge transducer and provides selectable excitation voltages of 5, 7.5, or 10 Volts.
This Coupler includes selectable AC (1.0 Hz) or DC Coupling. Five sensitivity ranges (plus two board-selectable preamp gain settings) and an off-calibrate vernier sensitivity control afford the user a wide latitude of control. A major feature of this unit is the auto-balance control. A simple press of the auto-balance switch brings any transducer into zero balance with 20-mV accuracy. Transducer offset errors and weight or tension pre-loads such as encountered in startle, tremor, and ergo metric activity or muscle preparations can be instantly zeroed out. The unit may be re-balanced to zero at any time via the manual switch or from program control via the logic input on the rear panel. When the balance switch is pressed the unit goes through an automatic balancing procedure and displays a yellow light indicating the transducer is balanced.
The unit also allows manual balancing. Place the balance switch in the Manual Balance position and adjust the balance control knob as necessary. This feature allows for closer tolerances for applications that require more precision in balancing the transducer.
In addition to the standard signal output, this coupler offers an integrated output. This is convenient when a small amount of "smoothing" of the signal is needed in applications like startle using ergo metric force platforms. The unit is shipped with a 10-millisecond integrating time constant but this can be changed by the user. |

V71-40 Pulse Monitor / Optical Densitometer

|
Product Number: V71-40
The V71-40 uses a light source and photo-transistor in either the transmissive or reflective mode to measure pulsatile blood flow by optical densitometry. The light is emitted and received by a dual-element emitter and sensor mounted in the transducer head. When used on translucent areas, such as the ear, the light is transmitted completely through the tissue and reflected back by the ear clip. When used where there is underlying bone, the bone itself reflects the light back to the sensor. As opaque blood components flow through the light path, they partially obstruct the beam to generate the signal. The unit may also be used for eye blink and other events producing a pulsatile change in reflectance. |

V72-34 Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Transducer

|
Product Number: V72-34
Like the auscultatory method, the non-invasive, oscillometric method of measuring blood pressure employs a cuff. However this method does not use a microphone to "listen" for Korotkoff sounds as pressure falls. Rather, the oscillometric method senses the oscillations in the artery wall caused by blood flow and computes pressure from changes in the oscillations. A major advantage is that there is no microphone to place. Just place the cuff with its single tube. It is easier to use, more reliable and has no microphone to pick up ambient acoustic noise to render signal error. An empirically-developed, proprietary algorithm analyzes the oscillations over the course of the cuff deflation cycle and produces the measure. The pressures reported correlate very well with measured values from noninvasive transducers. The unit has both manual and computer controlled capabilities and displays systolic, diastolic, and mean arterial pressure as well as heart rate.
The V72-34 consists of the LabLinc V-module, a remote cuff control unit (Cuff Linc) which contains the pump and a microprocessor to perform the analysis on the pressure signal, and an air-line-connected cuff. The module contains a second microprocessor to generate the display information, Systolic Pressure, Diastolic Pressure, Mean Arterial Pressure, and Heart Rate and synthesize the analog outputs reflecting these measures.
A nice feature of this unit is that after the first cycle, the microprocessor remembers the pressure and pumps only to that level plus a 50 mm Hg margin rather than pumping to the initial target pressure of 180 mm Hg. When taking the first reading, it inflates to 180 mm Hg and if it detects no pulse, begins the deflate routine. If it does detect a pulse it will increase pressure in 40 mm Hg increments until it detects no pulse. |

V73-22 Impedance Pneumograph Coupler

|
Product Number: V73-22
The Transthoracic Impedance Pneumograph Coupler is used for recording respiratory and ECG activity by measuring the thoracic impedance between two electrodes. IPG (Impedance pneumography) measures respiration rate and relative volume. Absolute volumes can be measured by first calibrating with a spirometer. In addition, the unit provides simultaneous measurement of ECG, a particularly attractive feature when working with small animals. Transthoracic impedance is determined by passing a four microamp, 50 KHz constant current through the subject's thorax and measuring the voltage across the electrodes. It is isolated to prevent interference from the excitation voltage when recording other signals. |

|
|
|
V19-92 Universal Switching Interface

|
Product Number: V19-92
This module is used to interface the LabLinc V-Series system to external devices. The digital inputs can be interfaced with the V19-16 General Purpose Port for program control.
Each relay has a front panel indicator to indicate the state of the relay. When the indicator is lit, the relay is switched to the NO (normally open) position. Relays 7 and 8 have an onboard jumper that allows these outputs to be switched from relay control to +12 Volt DC output drivers. The +12VDC output drivers also have an indicator on the front panel to indicate when the driver is on. When the front panel indicator is lit, the output driver is on (providing +12VDC output). |

Signal Conditioning and Synthesis Modules
V21-10 Dual Comparator / Window Discriminator

|
Product Number: V21-10
The V21-10 can be configured as a single channel voltage level detector with a remote reference voltage, two independent voltage level detectors (Schimidt Triggers), or as a single channel Window Discriminator. As a single channel comparator or level detector, a remote voltage (e.g., from a D-A Converter, an output from a BioAmplifier or Coupler, etc.) can be applied to either channel at the “Reference Voltage” input and the signal of interest applied to the other channel. This provides programmable control if the reference signal is coming from a D-A Converter or comparison to another physiological signal if the reference voltage is coming another physiological channel.
In the dual channel mode, signals from two independent sources can be used and the reference voltage amplitude and polarity are set by manual controls. When used as a level detector, the V21-10 provides simultaneous digital outputs indicating when the signal has exceeded the reference voltage and when the signal is below the reference voltage.
As a Window Discriminator, the upper and lower reference voltages and the polarity of each voltage are manually set. As with the two Comparator modes, there are two digital outputs, one indicating when the signal is within the window and one indicating when the signal is out of window (either exceeding the upper reference voltage or less than lower voltage). |

V76-24 Four Channel Integrator

|
Product Number: V76-24
The V76-24 provides four independently controlled signal integration channels in one module. Each channel has an independent selectable time constant from one millisecond to one second, negative offset adjust, and jumpers for choosing positive, negative or full-wave rectification.
The contour following integrator is used to “smooth out” high frequency signals such as EMG where the contour or “envelope” of the signal is of interest. The integrator also provides a precise measure of area under the curve as the root mean square (RMS) of the instantaneous amplitude of the signal.
When the time/amplitude integral of the signal is of primary interest, the V76-24 allows high frequency signals to be recorded and analyzed at greatly reduced analog-to-digital conversion rates, significantly reducing the size of the data files, and the time required for statistical processing. It also permits viewing meaningful data in real time with computer-based chart recorder software such as Windaq. This can be especially helpful in applications involving multiple simultaneous physiological measures. |

|
V77-26 Tachometer

|
Product Number: V77-26
The V77-26 is a microprocessor-based tachometer that produces an analog voltage output proportional to the rate of events on the input. A digital display on the front panel provides the number of events per minute. The Tachometer is used for real time display and recording of signals where the rate or frequency of recurrence is of interest such as Heart Rate, Respiration Rate, etc. The V77-26 can provide an update on a cycle-by-cycle basis, after every “Nth” cycle, or provide a rolling average for every “Nth” cycle. |
|
| |
|
V77-34 Blood Pressure Processor

|
Product Number: V77-34
This module accepts a pressure waveform signal from a transducer coupler and provides a proportional analog voltage for systolic, diastolic, and mean pressure. The value of these parameters is also displayed on the front panel. The user can choose to have these parameters updated on every cardiac cycle, or on every 2nd, 4th, or 8th cycle. The voltage outputs and display will hold the most recent sample until the next beat-update cycle. |
|
| |
|
V76-42 Differentiator

|
Product Number: V76-42
The differentiator produces an output voltage as a function of a rate of change (slope) in voltage of the input signal. It is used to produce a first derivative signal from the original, raw physiological signal, such as acceleration and velocity for ECG, blood flow, eye movement, tremor, respiration, etc. The V76-42 offers a very broad dynamic range and ultra high precision. Slope is determined by two high-speed, sample-and-hold circuits driven by a high frequency quartz clock. A high cutoff filter is provided for extreme precision in lower frequency applications such as ECG and ENG. Multiple units may be connected in series to generate second and third signal derivatives. |

V79-01 Signal Interface Processor

V79-02 Isolated Signal Interface Processor

|
Product Number: V79-01, -02
The V79-01 and V79-02 are designed to take signals either from outside the system or from other LabLinc modules and perform basic signal manipulations such as amplification, attenuation, signal rectification (positive only, negative only, or full wave), polarity reversal, AC Coupling, and signal offset. They can accept positive, negative or bipolar signals from millivolt levels up to 100 Volts peak from external amplifiers and signal sources and bring them into the LabLinc system. The V79-02 isolated version, maintains isolation of an external signal from the system ground reference in addition to the above functions. |

V75-48 Adjustable/Programmable Hi/Low/Bandpass Filter

|
Product Number: V75-48
The V75-48 consists of independent low pass and high pass filter sections and can accept two signals for independent Hi Pass filtering and Lo Pass filtering or one signal to provide bandpass filtering. Both the Hi Pass filter and Low Pass Filter are continuously adjustable either by manual or program control. A display on the front panel indicates the filter setting for both the Hi Pass and LowPass filters multiplied by the range.
The extremely sharp filter skirts (-48 dB per Octave) and the continuous adjustment make this filter the choice for demanding applications for very narrow band and/or precisely defined signals. |
|
| |
|
V75-50 EEG Band Separation Filter

|
Product Number: V75-50
This filter separates EEG signals into five bands simultaneously. The input may come from any bioamplifier capable of amplifying signals between 1 and 40 Hz. The 4-pole Butterworth bandpass filters give -24 dB/octave cutoffs. This level of filtering is adequate at the nominal EEG bands for nearly any purpose. Multiple units can be used in series to increase the roll off to -48 dB per octave (two filters), -72 dB per octave (three filters), etc. The V75-02 and V75-05 bioamplifiers without filters are recommended for use with this filter owing to the economy of not paying more for the models with onboard filters. One (or more) of these may be used with the V75-08 4-channel EEG amplifier. |
