MOUSE 5-HOLED NOSE POKE WITH 3STIM CUE LIGHT - RAT CAGE
|
Contact our Behavioral Research Specialists for more information
|
|
|

Developed as an interchangeable module for our standard Mouse- and Rat-sized testing cages, the Five-Choice Nose-Poke Response Walls can be ordered with Tri-Colored CUE Lights or variable intensity White CUE Lights (-W). Odor-Injection Ports can be installed quickly and easily. These walls instantly and affordably upgrades any existing cage to one capable of implementing variations of a five choice serial reaction task. Besides detecting the nose-poke response, either seven different visual cues (combinations of Red, Yellow, and Green LEDs) or varying levels of a white cue are available in each hole. An odor- or air-delivery port is also included inside each hole to allow for the presentation of olfactory stimuli. Mouse Nose Poke Walls for the Rat Test Cage (M/R) are also available with either the Tri-Colored Cue Lights (M/R) or the Variable Intensity White Cue Lights (M/R-W)

The H21-09M Nose Poke Operandum for mice has a 5/8 inch diameter entrance hole. The unit includes individually controlled red, amber, and green LED cue lights recessed from the front panel. The inside chamber is white, reflective ABS plastic to scatter the cue light making it visible from a side view. Response detection is by an invisible (940 nM) infrared photo beam across the opening. A gaseous olfactory stimulus connection is affixed to the chamber.

Now you can control when the subject will have the opportunity to respond on a nose poke with the new Controlled Access Nose Poke Response Operandum (P/N H21-09M-CA for mice and H21-09R-CA for rats). Like the Controlled Access Lickometers, a guillotine door prevents entry into the Nose Poke when closed and provides access to the Nose Poke when opened.
The photocell response sensor is included with the Controlled Access Nose Poke. A 3-position switch on the back panel of the unit provides settings for selecting a continuous output signal for the duration of the beam break or a short pulse at the onset of the beam break as well as introducing a delay in the response report. A stimulus light, located on the back wall inside the nose poke hole, is included.
The device has three connectors. Two of the connectors, for the guillotine door and the stimulus light, are controlled by Spares on the Environment Control Board in a Habitest system and the third connector is attached to any of the Switch Inputs.
Specifications:
Photo Beam Sensor:
Power: -24 to -30 Volts DC (nominal -28 Volts at 110 mA)
Emission wavelength: 940nm
Operating modes: Pulsed or Continuous
Response Report: -24 to -30 Volts DC
Response Report Delay: Selectable On/Off
Guillotine Door:
Operate Voltage: -24 to -30 Volts DC @170 mA
Cycle Duration: ~ 2 seconds
Cue Light
Color: White LED
Operate Voltage: -24 to -30 Volts DC @14 mA
